This knowledge matters because if our rights were granted to us by the Constitution, then they could be just as easily taken away from us. If they are given to us by God, then no power on earth can remove them, try as they might. At best, a repeal of the 2nd amendment would mean no more than that the United States no longer protected our natural right to bear arms. It would not take away our natural right!
There is really only one true way that we are equal. We all sin, we all fall short, and therefore we all need Jesus Christ who atoned for those sins. That is the great equalizer. That is the reason I cannot ever think I am better than anyone else. No matter what the situation is, no matter who the person is, we have this commonality between us. This knowledge is the great unifying force.
This is why the new novels die so quickly, and why the old Fairy Tales endure forever. The old Fairy Tale makes the hero a normal human boy; it is his adventures that are startling; they startle him because he is normal. But in the modern psychological novel the hero is abnormal.
And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
The subject of free agency (free will) is so important that a war in heaven was fought over it. It’s a tricky argument as well, so much so that a third of the hosts of heaven were lost. Is it not reasonable then to think that the war over agency continues today; and that it is just as important and tricky as it was in heaven?
I have known for a long time that I am miserable at work. I have tried everything from having a positive attitude, losing myself in the work, to reading books on business leadership. Still, the idea of waking up to go to the same boring job day in and day out, just to barely make ends meet, is too much for me to take.
It wasn’t that I avoided the accident, it was that I could hear a voice so penetrating that not only did I hear it through the music, but after several years, I can still feel the way it felt. I can feel how powerful it was. And yet the description is that it whispered, didn’t shout or scream. I did not hear it with my ears but in my heart and in my mind.
"Will write my story for my better self, As when you paint your portrait for a friend, Who keeps it in a drawer and looks at it Long after he has ceased to love you, just To hold together what he was and is."
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun … Continue reading Immediate Reward and Punishment
Here is another post from 2017 about a situation I could not avoid a few years earlier and how I handled it. Sometimes, as a leader, you have to make choices to do the right thing, despite what others may think of you. This was the most difficult scenario that I faced in a leadership position.
