On Saturday, I decided to take my workout up a notch. I decided to try a 5k on the treadmill and aim for 45 min. This meant I had to average 4 MPH, which is a fast walk or jog.

As in the last time, it was not my breathing that stopped me from hitting this goal, but other areas. I made sure I put on good shoes, so those were not an issue this time, and my calves were not in as much pain as the time before.

I know it is a humorous quote from the Office above, and it was not nipple chafing that got me, but it was chafing. My thighs felt like they were going to rub off!

I was on track for the first 2.5 miles. I was doing a combination of walking at 3.5 MPH and running at 5 MPH. I was on track to finish in 45 min., but the chafing was starting to hurt way too bad, so I slowed to 3 MPH and finished in 50 Min.

Considering the only 5K I have run I did past the 50 min. mark, I feel that is an improvement. I made sure to have hills on the treadmill, so it would not just be a straight walk. I do not know how much it simulates the real thing, but my body on Sunday sure felt like I had run one.

When I went back today, Monday where I am at, I work out on the crunch machine and then lifted some weights before doing a 30 min 1.5 brisk walk.

My weight, which has been as much as 240 in the last couple of months is now down to 229. I still would like that around 200, but it is trending in the right direction (perhaps that will lesson the chafing!). All this with only giving up soda and taking my Kyani products as my only changes. I did not change my diet much, other than those 2 things and trying not to eat past 6pm, though that is not always possible.
