“We didn’t actually overspend our budget. The allocation simply fell short of our expenditure. “Keith Davis
I suck at budgeting. I believe it is the single reason we are poor and continue to be poor. Seems like such a simple idea and yet I never do it. I never tell my money where to go and before I know it, it is all gone.
I get more frustrated over budgeting than any other financial subject. I know I should be doing it, and I have done it, as far as writing things down, but that is when it all blows up.
I have tried different budgeting apps and services, but I don’t really understand them that well and I really don’t like all the fuss. I have an excel that I keep what it is supposed to be, but can’t get motivated to create a plan from it. It is an attitude problem, and a big problem since it is the reason I am broke.
The biggest pain point is that the money all seems to go to bills and there is nothing left for anything else. So what is the point of a budget just to pay bills? This is my frustration and something I really need to think about how to solve.
Would love to hear if anyone has any thoughts or things they do to overcome budget woes.
